You may also be too focused on getting ahead instead of staying behind so you don’t fall into the “just keep up with the Joneses” mentality.

By being aware of these commitments, you can plan ahead and avoid having no time left to accomplish anything.

By this, I mean things like agreeing to meet with someone for lunch two hours later than you had planned. Or spending half hour cleaning your house before rushing out because you promised an appointment that requires you to get ready first.

You also have to consider how much time it takes to prepare for a job so you don’t overextend yourself. If something seems important to you but doesn’t feel like it's worth its own slot in your daily plan, maybe try splitting it into smaller pieces instead - even if only part-time.

It may take some practice at first, but eventually you'll reach a place where there are no extra resources available to be siphoned off time.

Taking breaks
