You can go for a walk or run an errand, visit a friend, have lunch with someone you know, or anything else that makes you feel better after talking about work or doing other things.

Work in small pieces
A key part of time management is breaking down big projects into smaller ones that you can easily handle at a given moment. This way, you keep yourself organized as you move along different stages of your career or business.
For example, if you are working on writing an article, you do not have to write whole chapters before you publish it. You can instead pick out several paragraphs and edit them separately before putting together your final draft.
This helps you stay focused and on track, especially when you are trying to achieve a deadline. It also allows for more accuracy as you may be able to fix some parts of the article later, depending on what changes occur.
Multitasking is the devil
We have a tendency to think that we are being efficient by doing several things at once, but in fact, this can be very harmful to your success.
When you try to do too many things at once, you begin to suffer from what has been called “paralysis of choice.” This happens when you cannot make a decision because there are just too many options available to you.
You become distracted by the next thing you need to get done, so you forget about the task you were working on before. And even if you did remember it, you would not be able to focus long enough to complete it properly.
This way of organizing our time also deprives us of the opportunity to achieve true efficiency. Because we lack one goal, we lose the chance to optimize our performance for that specific purpose.
By avoiding multitasking, you will give yourself more time to focus on each job efficiently.
Keep an eye on the big picture
A lot of people feel overwhelmed with all that they have to do, and how little time there is to do it. They may also feel stressed out because of everything they need to get done.
Having lots of things to do can make you feel busy, but not much else. In order to understand the true value of your work, you have to take stock of what you are doing and why it matters.

Take time out

You need to take breaks to restore your energy level and to re-charge your batteries.
This can be for a few minutes or up to an hour, but make sure your body knows what to do when you tell it to relax!
For example, if you work in an office, you could take a short break by going outside for some fresh air or sitting down at your desk for a couple of minutes.
Whatever you choose to do, just make sure you don’t overdo it – less is always better than none at all!
Don’t forget about daily breaks as well — even five minutes every day can help refresh your spirit.
