Finding time to do everything can be tricky, but there are ways to make it happen. With technology making us more efficient every day, you can use these tools for your career too!

In this article, I will talk about how professional speakers manage their time in order to achieve their career goal of speaking at conferences. But what makes this information special is that I will tell you exactly HOW they do it.

I have included tips like: how she sets up her schedule, what apps she uses to track her speech notes and announcements, and some easy tricks to help you organize and focus on the most important tasks.

Make plans and keep them

One of the biggest reasons people get distracted, run out of time or feel overwhelmed is because they don’t make their plan at the beginning of the day and then they have to go and do it, you know?

So, how does one make an appointment in their schedule? They decide what time they will be working and then they stick to that time frame.

This way, their mind is already made up about it, which helps them stay focused on the task at hand. And hopefully, they manage to complete it before the end of the day!

Another thing that can help with this is having a routine. For example, every morning I like to wake up and take my shower first so that I am prepared for the day. Then I dress myself, put some snacks in my bag and hit the road.

Do the next job

In his book The Power of Procrastination, Robert B. Chapman described doing something else as the best way to avoid starting things you have been putting off for too long.

He said it is better to start working on your most delayed task right now instead of waiting until later when you feel more focused or inspired.

By going into action every day, you will eventually get everything done that needs to be done.

This also applies to avoiding postponing other tasks because you don’t want to spend time on them yet. By investing small amounts of time in each one at a time, you will achieve far beyond what you could do if you waited till you were free.

You will find yourself spending less time on each task-taking only the amount of time you need to complete it-and getting the same quality result.

Develop your skills

A lot of people have a misconception about time management. They believe that if they just do their best to manage their time, then things will work out fine. This is not true though!

Time management does not mean that you must spend every minute of every day working. In fact, it’s the exact opposite- you should be investing in your personal development opportunities so that you can gain more knowledge and experience.

This way, you won’t have too much idle time because you’ll always have something to focus on. You’ll also be spending your time more efficiently as you’ll be learning new things.

Not only that, but by developing yourself outside of work you’ll feel happier. Not only will you enjoy what you are doing, but you’ll feel better about yourself which will make you feel happier.

Work on your work-life balance

A lot of people have their place and time in life organized, but they are still not able to focus solely on what matters most to them because they are always thinking about work or having fun related to their job.

Thinking about work all day every day can become tiring and frustrating. It also can easily distract you from other things that matter to you such as family, friends, and hobbies.

If you feel like you’re spending too much time at work and not enough time with your loved ones, then it is important to recognize this isn’t healthy for you.

You should be conscious of how much time you spend working and try to reduce it, if not eliminate it altogether.

There are several ways to do this. For example, you can start by reducing the number of hours you worked last week. If you cut back eight hours, you could save up to an hour per day which would equal one full night out of sleep each week.

Make it your mission to help others

We are all in this life for one reason – to make a difference. Your job is to make a positive impact on the lives of those around you, by helping them achieve their goals and dreams.

This doesn’t mean only helping people reach their own personal goals, but also going beyond that to help theirs. Whether it’s taking care of an elderly parent or teaching someone how to write a business letter, there are always ways to help other people.

By bringing out the best in everyone you meet, you will inspire others to do good as well. You’ll be creating a work environment where people feel motivated and wanted, which will motivate them to give their best effort.

Your colleagues and superiors will notice the energy they see in you and what you’re doing to contribute at the workplace. And you will gain respect from them because of what you’ve done.

It’s not just about you — making a lasting impression is more important than getting a big head.

Running into someone else’s goal is much better than running into their room with a gun.

Look at the big picture

A lot of people get distracted by all the things they have to do, and how busy their schedule is. They forget that life is about living each day to the fullest.

You need to understand that you will not enjoy every moment of your life if you are constantly looking forward to something or someone else. You will be restless and unhappy.

If you want to feel relaxed and happy, you must learn to look beyond the next few hours-you should focus on having a long term plan and then making it happen in small steps.

This way, you will feel more rested and confident in yourself and your ability to take care of what needs to be done. It also helps keep your morale high since you know that you will still have enough time to enjoy your life after everything is taken into consideration.

Also, when you have a goal, you will work harder towards it than if you were doing nothing.

Be realistic

A lot of people get overwhelmed by all of the things they have to do, so they don’t actually DO anything. They put off doing what they need to be done because there is just too much going on.

If you can’t seem to make progress towards your goal, then it may be time to reevaluate your goals or your approach to reaching them.

It could be that you gave yourself an unrealistic amount of time, and now you are having trouble meeting your deadlines due to this.

You might want to consider scaling back your expectations or looking at how you can achieve your same goal in less time. It might help you feel more relaxed about achieving your goal.

Alternatively, you could try keeping tasks separate from each other, see where that takes you!

Be Realistic About What You Can Do In The Given Period Of Time

We often times get distracted by unimportant things, which cuts down on us being able to focus on important things. If you find that you’re wasting large amounts of time on something that doesn’t matter, maybe it’s time to evaluate whether or not this thing matters enough to devote time to it.

There will come a time when you won’t have time for distractions, so you should start making room for these things.

Take breaks

We’ve discussed before how important it is to give yourself breaks during the day, but I want to go into more detail about why this is essential for your work-life balance and productivity.

Breaking up the work you have to do can make the difference between completing everything and giving in to stress or keeping control of your emotions and workloads.

It also gives you time to reflect on what you were doing just prior to taking a break. This helps reset and reorientate yourself for what you are next planning on doing.

Not only that, but research shows that people who take short breaks every few hours tend to enjoy their jobs more than those who don’t.
