New Orleans, November 2025 — The air in the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center crackled with more than just the usual conference buzz this week.

It hummed with the promise of a truly intelligent future for global transportation, a future articulated with conviction by Trimble at its 2025 Insight Tech Conference.

As industry leaders gathered, the message was clear: the fragmented, often manual processes that have long defined logistics are rapidly giving way to a seamlessly connected, AI-driven ecosystem, and Trimble is positioning itself as the architect of this profound transformation.

From the moment CEO Rob Painter and Transportation & Logistics SVP Michael Kornhauser took the stage, it was evident this wasn’t merely an announcement of new products, but a declaration of a new philosophy.

Painter spoke of modernizing and connecting solutions, of integrating data to unlock unprecedented customer productivity.

His vision wasn’t about singular tools, but about an “industry ecosystem” where the collective intelligence of shippers, carriers, brokers, and 3PLs would converge, creating a whole far greater than the sum of its parts.

Kornhauser echoed this sentiment, emphasizing that modern transportation demands solutions that are “intelligent and connected,” and that AI is the key to unlocking new levels of efficiency, productivity, and operational advantage.

This isn’t just about automation; it’s about augmentation, empowering human decision-makers with predictive insights and streamlined workflows.

At the heart of this new paradigm lies the Next-Gen Trimble TMS, unveiled as the company’s cloud-native, AI-powered Transportation Management System for enterprise-level carriers.

Described aptly as the “central nervous system” of a connected transportation management ecosystem, this TMS is designed to be the intelligent hub, integrating machine learning to not only automate complex workflows but also to provide the kind of predictive insights that can preempt problems before they escalate.

With seven distinct modules—from Order and Capacity to Supply:Demand and Control Center—it offers a flexible, scalable solution, allowing enterprises to adopt a complete, end-to-end system or integrate individual modules with existing Trimble solutions.

This modularity is a thoughtful nod to the diverse needs and varying stages of digital maturity across the industry, ensuring that no one is left behind in the race towards smarter logistics.

But the vision extends beyond the TMS.

Trimble demonstrated a suite of new AI agents and workflows, each meticulously crafted to address specific pain points that plague daily operations.

Imagine an Order Intake Agent that effortlessly processes orders from emails, PDFs, and EDI, instantly populating the TMS and freeing customer service teams from the drudgery of manual data entry.

Or consider the Road Call Agent for TMT Road Call, which leverages a driver’s natural language description of a breakdown to instantly initiate a roadside response, dramatically cutting down on response times and driver downtime.

For fleet maintenance, the Invoice Scanning Agent for TMT Fleet Maintenance eliminates manual data entry by automatically scanning PDF invoices, allowing teams to pivot from administrative tasks to higher-value work, ensuring vehicles are back on the road faster and more efficiently.

These aren’t abstract concepts; they are tangible, practical applications of AI designed to deliver immediate, measurable improvements.

Beyond internal efficiencies, Trimble is also tackling the broader industry challenges through expanded integrations.

Driver retention, a persistent headache for carriers, is addressed by Trimble Fleet Hub, which centralizes mobile communications between the back office and drivers, integrating with major telematics providers like Platform Science, Samsara, ISAAC, Geotab, and Solera.

This creates a unified, seamless communication channel, reducing driver frustration and improving overall satisfaction.

Procurement inefficiencies, another long-standing issue, are targeted by the Trimble Freight Marketplace.

Its AI-enhanced carrier vetting feature simplifies fragmented freight sourcing and dramatically improves capacity matching, connecting carriers directly to freight from major shippers like Procter & Gamble, which is already leveraging the solution for fulfilled shipments.

Even niche segments are not overlooked, as a new integration between Tandem Concepts and Trimble Fuel Dispatch TMS digitally validates fuel orders before dispatch, a critical step in reducing costly “no-load” scenarios and driver detention for fuel haulers.

These innovations, while rolled out in stages, signify a clear direction.

The Trimble TMS Order and Capacity modules are already available for trial, with the full beta version of the end-to-end solution expected in Q1 2026.

The AI agents and expanded integrations are slated for availability in Q1 and H1 2026 for existing customers, ensuring a steady rollout of transformative capabilities.

The Trimble Insight Tech Conference, running from November 16-18, 2025, has offered more than just product demonstrations; it has served as a crucible for ideas, fostering networking, expert panel discussions, and over 200 educational sessions.

It’s a testament to Trimble’s commitment to not only develop cutting-edge technology but also to educate and empower the industry to embrace it.

The company’s vision transcends mere software and hardware; it’s about building a smarter, safer, and more resilient global supply chain, one intelligent connection at a time.

As the transportation industry navigates an increasingly complex world, Trimble’s AI-powered ecosystem stands poised to be the compass guiding it towards a future of unparalleled efficiency and collaboration.
