In a landscape increasingly dominated by the shimmering promise of artificial intelligence, ZoomInfo Technologies Inc. appears to be orchestrating a notable comeback, demonstrating a strategic pivot that is beginning to yield significant returns.

The company’s third-quarter 2025 earnings call, held on November 4, 2025, painted a picture of renewed vigor, driven by an aggressive embrace of AI, a focused shift towards larger enterprise customers, and a steadfast commitment to financial discipline.

ZoomInfo reported a record GAAP revenue of $318 million, marking a 5% year-over-year increase.

More strikingly, adjusted operating income (AOI) hit $118 million, translating to a robust 37% margin – the highest since Q4 2024.

This performance not only surpassed the high end of their guidance but also saw the company return to the coveted “Rule of 40” for the first time in six quarters, a key indicator of balanced growth and profitability.

“We are executing well and capitalizing on a rapidly growing AI opportunity and go-to-market,” declared Henry Schuck, ZoomInfo’s Founder and CEO, his words resonating with a renewed sense of confidence.

Indeed, the narrative emerging from the call is one of a business “playing offense again,” a stark contrast to the more cautious tones heard in previous quarters.

Central to this resurgence is ZoomInfo’s strategic maneuver upmarket.

The company has successfully shifted its focus, with upmarket customers now representing 73% of its total Annual Contract Value (ACV), a substantial 10-percentage-point increase in just two years.

This deliberate move is proving instrumental, contributing to a higher quality revenue base and improved net revenue retention (NRR), which climbed to 90% in the quarter – a five-percentage-point improvement year-over-year and the highest level since Q2 2023.

For upmarket customers specifically, in-period NRR is once again above 100%, underscoring the deep entrenchment of ZoomInfo’s offerings within scaled businesses.

The company’s commitment to AI is not merely rhetorical; it’s a tangible force reshaping its product portfolio.

Schuck articulated a vision where “it is only a matter of time before ZoomInfo will be synonymous with AI and go-to-market.”

This ambition is being realized through innovative offerings like Copilot, GTM Workspace, and the recently launched GTM Studio.

These tools are designed to transform how go-to-market professionals operate, moving them from fragmented data sources to a unified, AI-ready system.

The “Operations suite,” ZoomInfo’s fastest-growing product, again surged by more than 20% year-over-year.

This suite, leveraging ZoomInfo’s proprietary data assets, is proving “mission-critical” for any AI-driven go-to-market initiative.

The company firmly believes its unique data, not readily available on the public web, is its winning hand in an AI-saturated market.

While large language models can surface common data points, ZoomInfo’s ability to provide granular, specific insights – like every non-franchised quick-service restaurant in a certain ZIP code or companies with a specific fleet size – offers a distinct competitive edge.

The positive early feedback on GTM Studio, described by Schuck as “one of the most innovative solutions we’ve built at ZoomInfo and has the opportunity to be the biggest product we’ve ever released,” further amplifies this optimism.

It acts as a data management platform, unifying various data streams to build a complete, AI-ready view of target markets, enabling revenue operations professionals to architect and execute targeted campaigns.

Partnerships are also playing a crucial role.

The integration of ZoomInfo Revenue Agent into Salesforce’s Agentforce platform is a testament to the company’s data being foundational for AI in go-to-market.

This collaboration allows sales teams to harness natural language queries to uncover opportunities directly within their existing Salesforce workflows.

Financially, the discipline is evident.

Graham O’Brien, ZoomInfo’s CFO, highlighted a nearly 300-basis-point sequential improvement in margins.

The company is actively buying back its stock, repurchasing 8.3 million shares for $87 million in Q3 alone.

This aggressive capital allocation strategy, which has seen ZoomInfo use 116% of its unlevered free cash generated since the start of 2024 to retire shares, underscores management’s conviction in the business’s intrinsic value.

O’Brien confidently stated that share repurchases, “when done at a deep discount to intrinsic value like we see today,” will drive substantial long-term shareholder value.

Even the previously challenging downmarket segment showed signs of sequential improvement, with a year-over-year decline of 10% compared to 11% in the prior quarter.

This stabilization is attributed to improved qualification of new sales and pricing adjustments.

Internally, ZoomInfo is leveraging its own data and AI models to identify payment risk, leading to a remarkable 45% reduction in invoice write-offs since launching in 2024.

Looking ahead, ZoomInfo has once again raised its full-year guidance, now expecting positive 2% annual revenue growth for 2025 and an adjusted operating income margin of 36%.

While acknowledging the increasing seasonality of its upmarket business, the leadership team remains committed to delivering revenue growth, margin expansion, and aggressive share repurchases in 2026, anticipating an acceleration in free cash flow per share growth.

The message is clear: ZoomInfo is not just adapting to the AI revolution; it’s positioning itself as a cornerstone of it, transforming its business from powering decisions to “powering outcomes” and moving from merely informing go-to-market strategies to actively “executing it.”

This strategic clarity, coupled with robust execution and financial prudence, suggests that ZoomInfo’s third quarter performance may indeed be a harbinger of a sustained upward trajectory.
